A Picture of Nectar is Phish's fifth studio album. It was released on February 12, 1992, and was Phish's major-label debut, appearing on Elektra Records.
It is the only Phish studio album to feature a song by another artist - Manteca - by jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie.
The album title "A Picture of Nectar" comes from the name of the club owner Nectar Rorris who owned Nectar's in Burlington, Vermont where Phish played many of their first live shows.
The cover photograph was taken by B. C. Kagan.
The album was certified gold by the RIAA on November 15, 2001.
