Blandings Castle lacks its usual balm for the Earl of Emsworth, despite the absence of his stern sister Connie. With Alaric, The Duke of Dunstable once again infesting the place, along with the standard quota of American millionaires, romantic youths, imposters and so on, Gally's genius is once again required to sort things out.
