[edit] Album information

The album includes many highlights, like Dion's renditions of the Etta James classic, "At Last" first recorded by Glen Miller in 1941, and Nat King Cole's "Nature Boy." "Have You Ever Been in Love", also appears on Dion's next album One Heart, although it is not changed. The ballad version of "Sorry for Love" appears on One Heart as well. "The Greatest Reward," was re-released on later pressings of the U.S. A New Day Has Come Limited Edition as a longer track. It's an adaptation of "L'envie d'Aimer," a song from the French stage musical The Ten Commandments. "L'envie d'Aimer" was originally interpreted by Daniel Lévi who portrays Moses in the musical. The song is co-written by Pascal Obispo, a popular French singer and composer. The track called "Ten Days" is an adaptation of a French hit song, "Tomber" by Gérald De Palmas. "Super Love," was available only as a European bonus track and was not released on the U.S. and Canadian versions of the album. Céline sings one song "Aun Existe Amor" in Spanish, it's an adaptation of "L'Amour Existe Encore" from Dion Chante Plamondon album (1991).

After a promotional tour of the medias by Céline, the fans could see, on April 7, 2002, the one-hour TV Special dedicated to the A New Day Has Come album. The Special had been recorded on March 3, 2002, at the brand new Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. She sang a duet with the Destiny's Child on "When the Wrong One Loves You Right" among others.

On May 23, 2002, Céline was a part of the VH1 Divas Las Vegas along with Cher, Shakira and the Dixie Chicks. The CD and the DVD recordings of that concert were released on October 22, 2002. Dion sang "A New Day Has Come," "I'm Alive," "Can't Help Falling in Love," and a duet with Anastacia, called "You Shook Me All Night Long."

The title track, "A New Day Has Come" was released as the first single and became a hit. "I'm Alive" was the second hit single. It was featured in the Stuart Little 2 movie. The third and last commercial single was "Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)" on which Shania Twain sings background vocals. "At Last" was released as a radio single in the United States.

On November 19, 2002, A New Day Has Come was re-released as a Limited Edition with a bonus DVD. This bonus DVD featured the studio recordings of "Coulda Woulda Shoulda" (which later appeared on the One Heart album) and "All Because of You" which was later released in Europe as a B-side to the "Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)" single. The DVD also featured the music video for "I'm Alive" and a teaser for Celine's Las Vegas show A New Day... .

Céline won an American Music Award for Favorite Artist in the Adult Contemporary category in February 2003.

Tracks 1, 3, 9, 10, 15, and 16 were part of the A New Day... show set list. TrackS 1, 10, and 16 were included on A New Day... Live in Las Vegas CD.
