Produced by Missy Elliott, David "Davey Boy" Lindsey, and Cliff Jones, the song was released as the album's second single on September 28, 2006. The song samples Curtis Mayfield's song "The Makings of You".
After a few weeks of staggeringly low radio airplay, "A Dozen Roses (You Remind Me)" has made a notable jump from the bottom 100's to #73 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It has reached its current peak position of #49 on particular chart.
The video for the single premiered on BET's Access Granted on November 15, 2006.
