A City With No People

A City With No People (だれもいない町 Daremo inai machi?) is an allegorical fictional book mentioned in the of the anime and manga series Chobits.

A City With No People is a picture book authored by Chitose Hibiya, a fictional character in Chobits. The story in the picture book closely parallel that of the main characters in Chobits. It tells the story of a city where all of the lights are on, but no one is in the streets: The people are all inside with their loved ones. Over the course of several internal books spanning the entire Chobits story, the narrator reveals the nature of persocoms, and their relationship with people. It then goes on about the "someone just for me" whom the narrator is looking for, while a darkened mirror image provides the voice of doubt.

The narrator (called Atashi, which is Japanese for "I") represents Chii, her mirror image (called Anata, which is Japanese for "you") represents Freya, and the star and a green person represents the Atashi's "someone just for me" (Chii's Hideki).
