[edit] Climate
Due not by the sea, due to its geographical proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, it could be said that A Capela does not enjoy extreme oscillation in its weather conditions neither in winter nor in summer. The weather is mild all the year around almost as if we were talking about one only season, and that is very different to what happens in other parts of the Iberian Peninsula. Like the rest of Galicia, it is rainy and beautifully green, and as different to other parts of Ferrolterra in winter time snow can be found in most parts of the borough. Still, the summers tend to be a bit dryer than the winters.
[edit] Industry
Almost exclusively Farming (including horse breeding), Agriculture and Timber production though services also do exist. Wind-mill parks are common in Ferrolterra particularly in the boroughs of Carino, Cedeira and A Capelada.
[edit] Nature and tourism
- This locality celebrates every year a very traditional and most spectacular event The "Rapa das Bestas" at Mount Forgoselo which every year gathers about 3,000 people amongst locals and visitors who want see how the newly born horses are marked and have their hair cut in a party like atmosphere.
- The "Fragas" of the River Eume National Park with its typical Atlantic Forest, and unique ecosystem and biodiversity, offers the visitor one of the most beautiful Galician landscapes. (Declared National Park in 1997).
- Something to visit: The gorgeous remaining of the 17th Century Monastery of St. John of Caaveiro[1], upon Eume [2].
- There is a small ethnographic museum in this locality with a collection of about 1,200 traditional items exhibited to all visitors. It might be worth visiting by locals and visitors alike; particularly those people interested in social anthropology.
