A.C. Wharton, Jr. is a Tennessee politician. Elected to a first term as Mayor of Shelby County in 2002, he was reelected easily in 2006. He is a Democrat from Memphis. He attended the historically black Tennessee State University in Nashville and graduated from the University of Mississippi Law School. He is married and has two sons.
