A.V. Phibes (real name Ann Trespelli) is an illustrator and fine artist known for her slick, retro-inspired images of man-pinups, devil girls, and Connie Francis. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, she is the niece of shoe designer Steve Madden. Phibes worked as a sideshow performer, plumber and commercial illustrator before founding her design studio, EvilKid Productions in 2000. Under the EvilKid moniker, Phibes produces the popular webcomic Kitty and Robot. She has had two solo shows of artwork at Blue Ruin gallery in Pittsburgh. Phibes currently lives in Brooklyn.
