[edit] Crawford Mosley
Mr. Mosley had been a resident of Panama City since 1915. He served as assistant principal, athletic coach and teacher at Panama Grammar School. In addition to these duties, Mr. Mosley also served as a member of the Bay County School Board for twenty continuous years beginning in 1955. He had been an outstanding civic, religious and school leader in Bay County, and for these reasons this school was given his name.
mosley was built on a 60 acre graveyard. students have complaned of walking through abnormally cold spots in the hallways and they claim to have seen bloody mary when they turn off the light. Bill Husfelt the principle says that they are currently finding creative ways to get rid of the bodies under the school. In October Mosley held its annual homecoming bonfire which was a wonderful excuse to burn the bodies. Molsey is also an outstanding "A" school. The reason for Moosleys success says 11th grader Billy Hill is God caused all the teachers to catch the spirit pass out and then instead of speaking in toungues the teacher spoke in FCAT answers!
[edit] History Since 1974
In March 1974, Mosley students moved into their new high school almost six months past the originally scheduled occupancy date. These students had been attending double sessions at Bay High School since the 1973-74 school year began in the fall. At the time of its opening, Mosley was dubbed as one of the educational showplaces of North Florida.
The Bay County School Board appointed Marvin McCain to serve as the first principal and Bob Jordan and Curtis Pittman as the assistant principals. Miss Jan Shirley was selected as the first homecoming queen to represent Mosley High School and Mark Rosser was the first Student Government Association president.
[edit] The Mosley Band of 1999
The year 1999 is generally regarded as the peak of mosley band program. In 1999, the band went to and won 25 marching competitions. This is generally attributed to the help of the band groupie Russell Hicks, who lent help to the tuba section, teaching them how to play and even composing several songs. Another factor in the success is the fact that Chuck Norris was the Drum Major and Jesus was the band president. It has been said that every time the band would preform, God Himself would shine down in approval and send a flock of white doves. As to date, no band has surpassed the A.C. Mosley Band of 1999 and experts are doubtfull of any band reaching that standard soon.
