923 Joey (DZRU 92.3 MHz Metro Manila) is a music FM station owned and operated by Nation Broadcasting Corporation in the Philippines. The station's studio is located at the 8th Floor, Jacinta Bldg. II, EDSA, Makati City.

[edit] History

The station was previously under the call sign DWFM when it first began airing way back in 1975. That time it was playing easy listening music and was run by the politically famous Yabut family of Makati.

When it switched over to its present format in 1998, top radio executive Francis Lumen assumed the position of station manager, and brought with him his previous 11 years of managing the defunct City Lite 88.3 into the station.

Today, as 923 Joey, the station now assumes the upper class higher echelon listenership genre, mostly embassy officials who were displaced by the departure of City Lite in 2003, with a mix of jazz fusion, pop jazz and crossover sound, with a little more of the European jazz flavor.
