Please note that all additions to Wikipedia must be verifiable. This means that you must cite a reference from which you got the information. You can't just write from what you know, even though that is much easier. Also, this is an encyclopedia; your entries must reflect that and should not have a conversational tone. If you want to discuss the article, click on the discussion tab. Once again, welcome. ---Baba Louis 17:32, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Greetings!!! Thank you for your formal welcome. It is great to know that one must be able to present themselves as knowlegeable. Also, good to see that the aforementioned comments are still somewhere in cyberspace. I shall refrain from a conversational tone in future. I'll hurl the dialectic discus in the discussion tab.
[edit] Warning
The changes you are making are considered vandalism on Wikipedia. You can be blocked from editing if you do not cease. Specifically, do not edit archived talk pages as you did here and here. Archived pages will be reverted to their previous state, Babuji. Also, with respect to the Gurunath article, you have been asked to discuss your changes on the talk page, continuing to revert to you previous version may result in being blocked. You may not have noticed, but I made changes to the wording which you lost. Please read the official WP policy on verifiability before continuing and please use the talk page. Thank you! ---Baba Louis 19:43, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Greetings Louis Baba! I'm sorry for the vandalism caused. This one was thoroughly unaware of the implications. I applaude your efforts to keep this a free yet reputable resource. It is indeed a difficult task. I shall refrain from acts of vandalism in future. Please forgive. Hara Hara Hara Mahadev!
Thanks for stopping. In the future, you should try to remember to sign your talk page messages with ~~~~. I am happy to discuss the Gurunath page with you. If you can provide an academic reference to the use of the tere Gurunath as a title for a Guru rather than as a given or family name or name of a river, etc. Normally, I would expect to find a glossary entry by doing a Google search for "glossary Gurunath" [1] - it find no glossary entries but rather people named Gurunath. On the other hand, the search for "glossary gurudev" [2] easily produces a nice glossary entry. So you can see why I'm dubious of the common use of the word as a title. With western thirst for Gurus and eastern knowledge, it would surely be in an online glossary. If you can provide an academic reference, I will happily make the oldest use of the term the primary part of the article. I've already revised the text to indicate belief on Shri Mahendranath's part rather than fact. Remember that Wikipedia cannot be the judge of truth. All it can ask is that a primary or secondary source be provided. In this case, a primary source is provided. However, of course, people may make mistakes. It is important to present their evidence and belief without bias, even when they are wrong. Hope this helps you to see where I am coming from. ---Baba Louis 03:46, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Yogiraj page
Hi,
Thanks for putting in your two cents into the YGS page. We need more people who care to enter into that discussion. I feel that the other two editors (Baba Louis and Chai Walla) who may in fact be the same person (since they are confirmed sockpuppets), are just trying to create drama. It would be good to also check out the Nath page and see if you can make any contributions there. I don't know what your background is, but you appear to be well-educated in these matters. Don't let the other guys push you around - they are not administrators. If they try to tell you that you can or cannot do something on wikipedia, I would recommend that you find out the facts from an unbiased administrator or look at wikipedia policy directly. Some of these guys have mafia mentalities and try to get their way by threats and force, which unfortunately undermines the wikipedia environment. Anyway, best of luck. If you have any questions let me know on my talk page. Don't forget to sign your comments with the 4 tildes. Hamsacharya dan 18:09, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] request for comment
Dear Shaninath,
This user Hanuman Das is attempting to get me in trouble with wikipedia by writing a citation of the "request for comment" page. Please take a look at this page and voice your opinion as you deem necessary: [3]. Please note that you should place your comments under the "RESPONSE" section if you are siding with me. Please read the directions carefully to understand how to format your comments. Sorry to waste your time with this, but Hanuman Das wont leave me alone, despite claiming otherwise.
