83 Gangster Crips

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 83 Gangster Crips (pronounced Eight-Tray Gangster Crips) are one of LA's most well known Crip Gangs. ETG's were strongly involved in the 1992 Los Angeles riots and were seen wearing "Locs" (sun glasses), black bandanas, and white T-shirts. Their Crip rivals include all of the N'hood Crips and the Rollin' sets, especially Rollin' 60 Crips. The ongoing feud between Rollin' 60 and ETG has been a bloody one, causing more Crip on Crip killing than with the rival Bloods. Other rival sets include the 67 Neighborhood Crips and the Inglewood Family Gang, a Bloods set. Their large array of rivals is mostly due, in part, to their large territory, which incorporates an area of 2.59 square miles, being noted as the biggest of the Black gang territorial occupations in the County (of Los Angeles). One of its members, the infamous Monster Kody Scott, has aligned his accounts of life as an Eight-Tray, in his controversial autobiographical piece, Monster: The Autobiography of an L.A. Gang Member.
