[edit] International Institute of Tropical Agriculture
The article International Institute of Tropical Agriculture has been reverted to a previous version because the text was a copyright violation of the Insititute's website. Please do not re-copy the text from the website, instead please expand the article. Thanks, Rich257 12:25, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
Please note that I as Head of Communication control the copyright of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and prefer that the informaiton provided about our institute is correct and thus similar as displayed on www.iita.org. I put it on several times only to see it revert all the time to what user Rich257 makes it. Please check the content on iita.org to verify that I am in my right to make the changes or email me at my cgiar email address for authentication if necessary. I now will once again put the correct information on (using ekoper) and hope that it will not again be changed! Many thanks.
I hope you understand that it cannot be taken on trust that you are the Head of Communication at IITA, although I have no reason to disbelieve you. No doubt you understand that anyone can edit the content on Wikipedia and any information on the IITA can be changed, and could be changed in a way that you disagree with. That is acceptable to Wikipedia provided that anything that is controversial is cited.
Please read the page Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. As the IITA copyright is not compatiable with GFDL and Wikipedia must receive an email from someone at the IITA allowing the material to appear on Wikipedia. The email will have to come from an iita.org email address. All this is described in page. Regards Rich257 20:55, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] It's easy to verify just email me!
I actually just emailed wikipedia complaints desk, but in the meantime you could verify my authenticity by emailing me. Please note that all email addresses of staff of any of the 15 CGIAR supported centers (check www.cgiar.org or http://www.cgiar.org/centers/index.html) uses the name@cgiar.org email addresses rather than e.g. name@iita.org
- I have no further interest in the article or this issue. Please note that I did not add the copyright violation notice on the article, nor was I the first revert it. I will leave you with the article. Rich257 21:17, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
