[edit] David Quinn (actor)

Thanks for your willingness to contribute to this article. I felt it necessary to revert the material though, since you did not provide easily verified sources. Please keep in mind, that Wikipedia requires that any material added be easily verifiable by any average reader. For example, having to buy and watch a DVD to verify a piece of information in an article, probably does not count as easily verifiable. Also it's unreasonable to require a reader to travel to verify the information. Somewhere on the internet there might be information about this man's achievements and work history. Please search for that and use it as your source. For reference, you might wish to read Wikipedia's guidelines about reliable sources and verifiability.

Your tone is really not appropriate. You are acting as if you where the final authority on wikipedia entrys. I completed an interview with the subject of this entry. I am not aware that you have. I have been to the subject's home, seen the awards and viewed the relevant material. You are acting as though the internet is the only source for knowledge claims, and that is a fallacy. Should I ask Mr Quinn to borrow his LiveAid dvd to make screen caps for you? Do I need to take pictures of him holding up an award? I'm reverting your edits. if you have a problem with it, take it to a higher level wiki editor. I;ve added this correspondence to the Quinn entry for others to decide. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.231.150.79 (talkcontribs).

You are correct in that TheRingess is not the only editor - in fact, anybody can edit Wikipedia - her tone is appropriate as she is trying to support your efforts and tell you what can be done to make your work better and closer to Wikipedia standards. For Wikipedia to work properly, all editors and edits must comply with the policies of Wikipedia, including verifiability, being bold in your edits while avoiding original research... and, above all, being civil with no personal attacks. If you wish to add pictures, certain rules must also be observed if the pictures are to survive more than a week here. Ultimately, don't forget to assume good faith. Good luck, and please play nice! [edit] editting pages

I see that when you edit discussion pages, you add ~~~~ to your edit summary, but it's customary to add them to the end of your comment inside the edit itself. For example, at the end of comment on your user talk page, I'm going to add them, then it'll change into my signature and time. Sonic3KMaster(talk) 01:57, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mr. Quinn's Imdb entry

I am double checking with the imdb's management to double check the authenticity of this new entry. Please do not add to the archive discussions. The discussion was up for a week.TheRingess 14:38, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

I do find it very suspicious, that Mr. Quinn's imdb entry remains unchanged for months. Then suddenly, this discussion appears on Wikipedia, and all of a sudden his imdb entry changed. I noticed that you did not particpate in the Request for comments discussion that you yourself started. BTW, it's general practice to leave only a summary of your edits in the edit summary, comments to specific editors should be left on their discussion page.TheRingess 14:46, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Please come to the above page and make some sort of comment about the case. I'm a little unclear as to what the problem is here.SFinside 15:30, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
