Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia! You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and gives you many benefits, including:

We hope that you choose to become a Wikipedian and create an account. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have on my talk page. By the way, make sure to sign your posts and comments with four tildes (~~~~), which will let others know who left it.

When you are in disagreement with another editor, please use the talk page to discuss why you disagree. You should not simply repeteadly change an article to the way you want it. Please have a look at Wikipedia:Three revert rule. Also please don't swear at other users.

Thanks. DJ Clayworth 21:47, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi

You seem to be under some misapprehension about Wikipedia. Wikipedia is free for anyone to edit. That means that if someone disagrees with you they are free to edit what you wrote. We also have rules to try to avoid getting into arguments, which involve talking about why you think your version of an article is best, and reading why someone else thinks differently. Please go to Talk:Benjamin Hendrickson and explain why you think the details about the method of suicide should be removed. Swearing at other users is also not permitted. DJ Clayworth 21:55, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. AnnH 21:59, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for disrupting Wikipedia by making personal attacks. If you wish to make useful contributions, you are welcome to come back after the block expires. AnnH 22:02, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

More on Benjamin Hendrickson

In regards to your comment on my talk page:

- Please be sure when you are commenting on someone's talk page, that you sign your name with four tildes (the ~ character), which marks the post with your user name, or in your case, since you have not signed up for Wikipedia, your IP address.

I have edited the article twice, I believe. Wikipedia is a fact-based encyclopedia, and as such, must be accurate. I understand and respect that you find the details unpleasant, but I disagree with you that the information must be removed. I don't do this because I "think I'm God". It's very heartbreaking that Ben died, but again, in order for people to take Wikipedia seriously, we must meet journalistic standards.

I believe this article is probably headed toward mediation with editors, because Wikipedia has rules about people reverting articles too many times and I am not editing this article again, at least on this point. I will let administrators handle this. NickBurns 01:49, 19 July 2006 (UTC) 01:48, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia is a fact-based encyclopedia, yes, but you are not the ultimate say on how much detail should be included. Who made you ruler on this? Users have a say, that's the essence of this site. If you always have to impose your opinion on everyone else as to level of detail, then rename the site NickBurns.com. I don't want any messages left by you on my page anymore. I consider it garbage.

I'm sorry that you feel this way. I am referring the matter for mediation. NickBurns 01:55, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

I apologise for calling you kitten, however it is a pet name I use for anyone and everyone. Please don't call me a limey, however - I find the name offensive, even though yes, I am English. And a sailor, too, actually. Get that. HawkerTyphoon 03:11, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
