[edit] Welcome!
Welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia! You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and gives you many benefits, including:
- The use of a username of your choice, provided that it is appropriate.
- The use of your own personal watchlist to which you can add articles that interest you.
- The ability to start new pages.
- The ability to rename pages.
- The ability to edit semi-protected pages.
- The ability to upload images.
- The ability to customize the appearance and behavior of the website.
- The eligibility to eventually become an administrator.
- Your IP address will no longer be visible to other users.
We hope that you choose to become a Wikipedian and create an account. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have on my talk page. By the way, make sure to sign your posts and comments with four tildes (~~~~), which will let others know who left it. Mike Christie 01:56, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Pacifism
It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed content from Pacifism. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thank you. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. Mike Christie 01:14, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hi -- thanks for the note. The reason I reverted to the previous version was because you hadn't provided an edit summary, so I couldn't tell whether you were editing in good faith or had accidentally blanked out part of the page. (We do get a lot of vandals blanking pages, unfortunately.) If you'd like to go ahead and delete that material again, please do -- but do add an edit summary explaining why. Or if you prefer, put "See talk page" in the edit summary, and add an explanation on the article's talk page. If you're not familiar with Wikipedia and aren't sure what I'm talking about, drop me another note and ask. I've added a welcome template up top, as well; do consider getting a user name as the advantages are real. If you do, let me know, so I'll know who you are. Mike Christie 01:56, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
