Getting GeoCover 1975 into World Wind turned out to be a real pain. At present, the data is only available as monochrome GEOTIFFs for each band, and the .hdr info supplied seems to be wrong or misleading (is it just for the visible portion?). So first construct the false colour composite (with eg the free Purdue MultiSpec), and save it as GEOTIFF and also JPG for the World Wind plugin. Then convert the GEOTIFF to the World Wind datum and projection (?WGS84 and Lat/Long) using eg the free USGS version of Global Mapper, output its 'Control Centre' world data, and convert that to the World Wind Image Overlay Plugin format. Then use that with the JPG - and even then it needed some manual tweaking (why?)...
Hopefully the World Wind crew will soon add GeoCover 1975 to the available image sets.
