[edit] Mongols
I didn't identify it as a copyvio; I just noticed it was on the Wikipedia:Copyright Problems list and added the copyvio tag to the article accordingly. I have no particular opinion on the copyright status of material reworded from another website. Please present your arguments at the relevant talk pages and the copyright problems page. btw., please leave messages on my talk page not my user page. Thanks - Algebraist 16:21, 19 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] bonnie and clyde
i'm going to be reverting your changes at bonnie and clyde, but wanted to mention here first, in case you haven't been reverted before (it can seem like a personal slight, when usually it's not). while i mostly agree with your opinion, the additions aren't encyclopedic. if you'd like more explanation, please let me know. thanks. [edit] impersonator
This person is not oldwindybear. I sign my name when I edit, even if it is fouling up, I take credit for my good contributions, and mistakes also. old windy bear 16:47, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
- from the edit diff cited in the sockpuppet template above as evidence of Oldwindybear's explicit admission:
- I contributed to this article under my name of oldwindybear and my internet address of 68.50.125.89.
- edit patterns at Bonnie and Clyde and elsewhere confirm this.
- from this edit by Oldwindybear:
- ...as for internet addresses, I have used four, three of them onsiderably before teh one you questioned.
- that quote is Oldwindybear attempting to claim that he had edited as something other than Oldwindybear (without attributing to Oldwindybear at the time, contrary to his claim above ["I sign my name when I edit"]. the only correct way to sign a name in an article edit is with edit summaries -- something Oldwindybear is notorious for avoiding for any purpose, especially to sign when editing under an IP address). Oldwindybear's 13 february 2006 denial is an obvious falsehood, disproved by his words in edit histories. 63.28.10.16 23:44, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] This is a Moot Issue
I may well have made the 2 edits in question - at the time I was on chemotherapy, and quite ill. I may have failed to sign in, heck, I just failed to sign in, accidently. I note that to the best of my knowledge, no controversial edits were made from this address, and it certainly was never used to sock puppet. (this address was never used to influence any debate, vote on any question, et al) I do use this address, and do not deny the Mongol edits, having reviewed them. On the Bonnie and Clyde edits, I am not sure - that was over 7 months ago, and all in all, only two edits are involved, out of 3500 I have done. If so, it was an inadvertant error, over seven months old. I simply do not see this as a relevant issue - it is seven months later, and there is no controversy at all. I try to sign in, and again, consider this a closed issue. God knows I have made thousands of edits signed in, and it is possible a few when I forgot, especially when on the chemo, which was terrible. I stress again no one has complained - other than SaltyPig, who is permanently banned, and that over 6 months ago - that this was a sock puppet, or attempt to in any way circumvent the rules. I would appreciate removal of this notice, given the tiny number of edits, their utter lack of effect on any controversial issue, and the lack of any intent to use a sock puppet. old windy bear 18:21, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
