[edit] Encyclopedic standards

In order to keep wikipedia accurate, we have a series of policies, as complete list of which can be found here: WP:POLICIES.

I would like to specifically point out Wikipedia:Verifiability, Wikipedia:No original research and Wikipedia:Three-revert rule. Edits made that do not meet these policies will be removed. If you continuously re-add edit the do not meet these polices you may lose your editing priviledges. Thanks for your contributions, they are welcome. HighInBC 17:31, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Person

Greetings. Regarding your recent edit to persons, please see how I've revised the text. If you can, please get a copy of Steven Wise's book, so you can cite from it or refer to it directly. Since it's not an established fact or widely shared opinion, you can't just say "elephants are considered persons." In general, avoid the passive voice. Say *who* considers elephants persons. But all that said: thanks for this information! It's made the article person better than it was before. Best,--Anthony Krupp 23:16, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Take off your coat, stay a while

I noticed you seem to have more than a passing interest in wikipedia. You seem to be learning the way things work here and are contributing both through direct editing and through discussion. Perhaps you would like to create an account?

Of course you are very welcome to continue editing from an IP, but it would be nice to have something to call you other than 68.40.167.60 hehe. HighInBC 16:40, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding edits made during September 4, 2006 (UTC) to Arguments for and against drug prohibition

Please stop. If you continue to blank pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. If this is an IP address, and it is shared by multiple users, ignore this warning if you did not make any unconstructive edits. Ryūlóng 04:02, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Reverting

Please note that when there is a dispute over content, the policies and guidelines of wikipedia take precedence over personal opinion. Please take into consideration that points I have made on the talk page per WP:Reliable sources before reverting the content in question. HighInBC 15:55, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding the 3RR rule

The policy says:

This does not imply that reverting three times or fewer is acceptable. In excessive cases, people can be blocked for edit warring or disruption even if they do not revert more than three times per day.

This means that even if you have not reverted more than 3 times in 24 hours that certain actions can still be considered edit warring. HighInBC 16:23, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
