Welcome!

I hope you will learn more about who writes Wikipedia articles (anyone can do it!), consider creating a username, and then get involved in the Wikipedia community discussions. Here are some resources to help you get started:

I have only been here a few months myself, and I have found the Signpost and the Village Pump to be particularly useful, as well as the Welcome area. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page.

Once you have created a username, please be sure to sign your posts on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. If you have questions, my talk page is here. Mamawrites & listens 11:05, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] bands

Welcome (again?) to wikipedia. You seem to have an interest in music, and in particular bands and performers. This is certainly an area of wikipedia that could use some work, but please read WP:Music. Not every band is worthy of a page in wikipedia, including many of the bands and artists you've been entering lately. --Bachrach44 06:33, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

Regarding you edits to the article Nuclear warfare. I have removed your edits since they do not seem to add to the content of the article. Further, they did not appear to conform to Wikipedia's policy on NPOV. You may be interested to read Wikipedia's content guidelines. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia! Cheers. --PeruvianLlama(spit) 21:12, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Compact audio cassette

You say that "from 1985 to 1991 the cassette tape was the most popular form of recording in the United States". Is this implying that before 1985 and after 1991 other forms of recording sound were the most popular? Or did you mean "the most popular form for listening to music"?

There was certainly no real competition for cassette recording until CD-R/CD-RW in the late 1990s (IMHO), and I'll bet that reel-to-reel tape recording was surpassed (in popular usage) by cassette recording long before 1985.

I've left the sentence in for now, but please clarify it sometime soon. Thank you.

Actually, on second thoughts, I've commented it out. It's still there, as you'll see if you try editing. Fourohfour 12:32, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Decade nostalgia

Hi,

I have tagged this for 'Articles for Deletion' discussion. Although it is potentially worthwhile, I have some serious misgivings about it; you can read my reasons for putting it there at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Decade Nostalgia, and respond to it.
