64th Aggressor Squadron

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 64th Aggressor Squadron is a squadron of the United States Air Force.

Originally formed in 1940, it eventually became the 64th Aggressor squadron on December 30, 1981. As the 64th Fighter Weapons Squadron, they began performing the aggressor role with the T-38 Talon in 1972. In 1975, they received F-5E Tiger II, which they flew until preparing to transition to the F-16 on April 1, 1988. As the Cold War ended and military budgets adjusted, the unit was deactivated on October 5, 1990. The squadron was reactivated on October 3, 2003, again flying the F-16.
