Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia, as you did in Internet pornography. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links as long as the content abides by our policies and guidelines. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. TomPhil 14:47, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

So how do others get to post such links? Would it be permissible to have a link to the site if content is added that contains a link?

Please see the Wikipedia policy on Spam. TomPhil 14:55, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

I did and I don't see how this is spam. It is not my site. It is one that I think is useful. Is the issue that you are atheist and this is a faith-based service? (I also looked at your profile). I guess I'm trying to understand why this isn't relevant to the topic...

I'm sorry, but Wikipedia are very strict on this kind of thing. Perhaps looking at the policy page on External Links may be of help. I just did not think that the site was relevant enough, and this was backed up by the fact that you added exactly the same link to a number of different articles. Also I felt that it was added to promote the site and the treatment, rather than to provide additional information, which is what the purpose of an external link is supposed to be. The fact that your only edits to Wikipedia seem to be adding external links to this page would suggest that you are adding it to market the site, rather than to actually provide additional information, and the site seems to be aimed mainly at encouraging people to sign up for the treatment, rather than providing additional information on the subject.
The rules on external links also state that you should not add links to sites that you own or maintain. While you state that you do not own or maintain this site, obviously you are making anonomous edits to Wikipedia and so I have no way of proving this one way or another. Again, the fact that all of your edits have been adding a link to this site would contribute towards that theory.
The issue is nothing to do with my religious beliefs; I applaud religion when it does something constructive such as this.
I have reviewed all of your other contributions and notice that these have all been reverted by other contributors, which would seem to show that there is a consensus that this link is not appropriate to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is above all an encyclopedia, not a web directory.
You are very welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, but in future I would urge caution on adding external links. Unless they provide specific and additional information on the subject that the article is about, then they are likely to be deleted.
If you would like a broader Wikipedia community answer on the issue of external links, please post a question on the Help Desk.
Once again, thank you for your interest in Wikipedia. TomPhil 11:19, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
