Thank you for the invitation, but I do already have an account which I can use, but which I currently login to only when necessary -- it is FishUtah (talk contribs). I find that by doing the bulk of my editing as a anon I am actually more productive in making real contributions, and that by doing this I avoid the flame/troll/revert wars that currently blight WP. At heart I am really just a WikiKnome, and would rather that each of my (abet minor) contributions stand on their own merit, rather than be judged by any reputation created by other edits I have made. As an unfortunate consequence I have run into a couple of triger-happy users that seem to think it's ok to revert anon edits on sight, reguardless of what the individual contribution actually was, but that's the price I pay. However if you want to look at a few of the IP addresses I've been the primary contributer to, here is a sample: 70.59.243.128 (talk contribs); 70.57.102.250 (talk contribs); 70.59.246.169 (talk contribs). I also have a family member that use to contribute under Argon233 (talk contribs), but who decided that they needed a wiki-break. They were really helpful to me in learning how to edit here at Wikipedia, and I see a couple of contribs that weren't mine that must be theirs that show up under the above IP's as well, and but almost all of them are mine. Identity here on WP is tricky, so I'll sign in after I post this, and add a comment below so I can confirm that this IP address is currently me (FishUtah). Thanks, -- 63.226.38.165 22:39, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Yes the previous post here was, is, and will continue to be me. -- FishUtah 22:41, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
I can understand your position and reasons for not using your registered name for most editing. WIKI is an interesting place. There is a higher degree of respect offered registered users over Anons. If one reviews my history, you will see that I do get invovled in "conversations" fairly often. I suffer fools with difficulty and those who have an aggressive agenda not at all. Consequently, I have a reputation for being a tough on some editors.
As an aside, I take by your handle that you fly fish or would that be an incorrect assumption. Cheers. Storm Rider (talk) 23:02, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Actually my grandfather & father were/are the real fly-fishermen in the family. It's a beautiful thing to watch fly-fishermen like them -- it's like a dance. Unfortunatly they also wern't very patient mentors, so I'm actually in the worm-drowner category of fishing. Really though the time spent in nature is more important to me than my count for the day anyway, or so I tell myself unless I have a really good day. :-) About the only time I really get a chance to fish at all is when I'm on vacation visiting relatives in Utah and Northern Arizona; hence the name, because my little edits here on WP are like mini-vacations to me, and the name reminds me of area of the country and an activity that I like, that I wish I could spend more time doing, and someday want to be better at. -- 63.226.38.165 23:49, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
I am a fly fisherman, though I suspect many would say I do it poorly. The rivers of Utah are good, but I tend to seek out the rivers of Montana and Idaho. I really enjoy very light weight equipment. I often fish in Alaska and have my most impressive fishing there. It is a beautiful country; I lived there as a child for five years while my father was in the military. He taught me to fish, but I learned to fly with my friends later in life. I am not the fisherman he was, but I find being outdoors to be a pure communion with our Father. Cheers. Here and here is a perfect example of why I just try to be an anon wikiknome. For all the claims of assuming good faith, showing basic curtesy, and all the rest here at Wikipedia, there seems to be a great deal unnecessary of animosity. When someone says things like "It's always a bad sign" when they see an anon IP edit, and calls a combination of a content dispute & an easily corrected mistake "near vandalous", why would someone want to keep contributing, or conversly, why would someone want to get an account? It makes my blood boil enough that I'm even more deturmined to primarily edit from an IP, to provide more examples of valid edits from IP's. However I think I just found another group of articles where I may not be welcome. -- FishUtah 07:08, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

My blood runs pretty hot. Stupidity and axe grinding can pretty much send me over the edge. I take a little bit too much pleasure in tweaking some editors' noses; it is a weakness that really should be abandoned.

There are some legitimate reasons for using your registered name (See Wikipedia:Why create an account?). For me, it is easier going into a conversation. On most the articles I edit, please know me; I stay relatively close to some 70 articles. In disputes, long term editors are given some leeway because of their proven worth. Unregistered editors or an unknown; are they pranks, unskilled, etc. The rest of us just don't know and it makes it difficult.

It is true that because I am known my reputation proceeds me. Some editors just like to bump heads; some learn to coexist, and others move on. I would say that I am addicted to WIKI. I value what is said here because the information is so broadly distributed and used. My focus on articles of religion are of value to me. I detest zealots of any religion; specifically LDS and anti-Mormons. I could do withut both groups. However, I have a pretty high distain for zealots of any religion. WIKI should not be controlled by them, which it has been in the past. It may take time, but my slow picking away at the "tripe" eventually produces better articles. Your skills would be greatly appreciated. When it gets too much, seek another article and after a time, come back to the disputed page and go at it one more time. In the words of my father, who was not LDS, "don't let the bastards get you down!" He was a wise man. Storm Rider (talk) 07:46, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
