From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 62 Castle St Hotel is situated on Castle Street, Liverpool. It describes itself as a 'city centre boutique hotel', which used to be the Trials Hotel. It is a Grade II listed building which was formerly a bank. The structure was originally built in 1868 initially for the Alliance Bank and later for the North and South Wales Bank. The bank moved to this five storey building on the corner of Castle St because their previous premises was proving to be too small. The building was designed by the architects Lucy and Littler and features mahogany and marble materials, carved pilasters, cornices, balustrades, swags and rusticated arches. The building was bought by Centre Island Hotels in 2004 and refurbished to its current condition as a boutique hotel.
