Hi there. My apologies if I came across as harsh with the warning about the inclusion of commercial links; please see the WP:SPAM page for more information about how you can contribute to our encyclopedia without triggering the spam detectors. Unfortunately, Wikipedia has been experiencing an increasing number of problems with anonymous advertisers who have been seeding articles with commercials links in an effort to boost their search engine ranking. The reason I classified your additions as "sneaky" spam is that the links appear to be normal article text until you check the link target. While we normally assume good faith, the repeated addition of commercial links by a new, anonymous editor tends to make us suspicious.
I should mention that your "power-hungry" comment is unfounded; you have as much "power" as any other user (well, actually slightly less as an anonymous contributor). If you would like to contribute to Wikipedia, I highly recommend that you create a named account. This has several benefits, including a persistent user page and a persistent talk page. It also means that your IP address is kept private, and you can receive email via your account without revealing your actual email address. More importantly, your edits will not be subject to as much scrutiny as edits from an IP address. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me on my talk page. Thanks. --Alan Au 00:19, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
