55 Bar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
55 Bar is a jazz club located in Greenwich Village, New York City (Manhattan). It was founded, and has been in continuous operation, since 1919. The club started with a walk-in jam session in the 1980s, but switched to an all-jazz format when Ms. Queva Lutz took the room over in 2001.
The 55 Bar often plays host to many jazz musicians, some underground, some well-known, such as Mike Stern, Wayne Krantz, Leni Stern, Chris Potter, and others.
