The infoboxes shown here are attempts to overcome the layout problem for when too many entities are involved. The date is kept at the top (that should be maintained, regardless), but some flags have been moved to the bottom.
Since there is only one preceding state, that flag can go to the top without any trouble. It is also listed at the bottom for completeness. See the footnotes of each infobox for details about each design.
The templates used here are rough drafts and should be used for test purposes only.

| This version experiments with the {{flagcountry}} template in the sn/pn field. Using this template would be nice if optional flags could be entered, but you need to know the right code (if it is available) to get the flag you want. For example, the flags for Bosnia & Herzegovina and Macedonia are later versions and the flags for the Kingdom and FR of Yugoslavia had to be entered manually. The layout is also a bit messy. |

| For the flags at the bottom, this version of the infobox asks for separate entries for flag and country, just like up the top. If the flag is not given, the area is left blank (i.e. no "Sin bandera.svg". A tabular form is used to neaten the layout. | Based on version C, the need for separate sn/pn variables has now been removed. If only p(1-3)/s(1-3) are used, the flags will display at the top as normal. If p4 or s4 are used, the bottom section is automatically created. If one side has less than 4 entries, that side will also be displayed at the top as before. For the side that has more than 3 entries, a down-arrow is put in place, linking to the bottom section. Still not sure about the text alignment within this bottom section. |
