Talk:50 Greatest Documentaries (British poll)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[edit] Moving name to "50 greatest documentaries (British poll)" (or similar)

When I first came across this article, I immediately thought: "this is not encyclopedia material." Then I read the introduction and realized that the subject was the results of a poll of the British public on the what are the 50 greatest documentaries. Certainly it would be easy for someone to miss the introduction and think this is an encyclopedia article on what are the 50 greatest documentaries--that would be patently improper.

Likewise, I can imagine someone seeing the title from a search (or through a press of the "random article" link, or via a search engine)but not reading the article, and coming away thinking "more unencyclopedic material on Wikipedia." Thus, I think the title of this article should expressly indicate that the subject is a poll of public opinion, and not an "encyclopedia opinion." I suggest "50 greatest documentaries (British poll)" or something similar. With some articles, just performing the move is warranted. With this article, however, I thought a concensus should be requested. Fuhghettaboutit 16:49, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
