407-401 Durham West Connector
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
407-401 Durham West Connector, is a proposed freeway connection between the 407 Express Toll Route (ETR) and The King's Highway No. 401 (the Macdonald-Cartier Freeway). The proposal is dependent on the extension of 407 eastward.
The north terminus of the connector is expected to be near future kilometre mark 112 on 407, and the south terminus near kilometre 407 on the 401. However, the exact route and location of interchanges will be determined as part of the Highway 407 environmental assessment currently underway.
The Durham West Connector is one of two proposed highways to connect the 407 and 401, along with the 407-401 Durham East Connector to be located to the east in Clarington, Ontario. However, the eastward extension of highway 407 is currently undergoing an environmental assessment process. A final decision to begin construction on the 407 extension and the connector highways will await end of the assessment process in late 2008.
