38th Regiment of Foot

38th Regiment of Foot was a British regiment from 1705 to 1881. In 1705, the regiment was raised at Lichfield by Colonel Luke Lillingston and was called Luke Lillingston's Regiment of Foot. In 1751, they were renamed the 38th Regiment of Foot. In 1881, they became The South Staffordshire Regiment and continue to serve today. The 38th Regiment was one of the British regiments that saw action during the American Revolution.
