3596 Meriones is an asteroid discovered on November 14, 1985 by Poul Jensen and Karl Augustesen. It is named after Meriones, the fictional hero from the Illiad. It orbits in the L4 Lagrangian point of the Sun-Jupiter system and is therefore considered to be part of the "Greek camp".
