*MTV is a wireless content provider available for Virgin Mobile phones in the United States. Access is via VirginXtras and VirginXL.
The service offers ringtones, music news, alerts, text messaging chat and SMS-based games.
In some European countries, a similar service is available under the brand name MTV Load.

*MTV offers a variety of services to their subscribers. Navigation links in each subsection refer to how a user would navigate to the service from the phone's web browser menu. Currently the following services are available:

This service provides news on MTV shows such as Total Request Live and Real World

Multi-media message cards a subscriber can send to other subscribers. $0.50 to send, $0.25 to receive.[2]

Text game where *MTV sends the subscriber a text message with a scrambled artist's name. If the return message contains the correct unscrambled name, they gain points. Subscribers with the most points each game are listed at mtv.com

*MTV users using this feature will receive text message alerts when new tracks by their preferred artists are available, and may be able to listen to them on their mobile phone.

Allows subscribers to send and receive text messages with other *MTV subscribers. This is the same price as a regular text message.

Allows subscribers to vote on which MTV video they would like to see next while the current video is playing. Each vote is a text message and therefore $0.10US

Allows a subscriber to vote for Total Request Live videos from their mobile phone. Votes are $0.10US each.

Viewer's Pick Video lets subscribers vote for which videos are added to the MTV and MTV2 rotations. Votes are $0.10US each.

Yearbook Trivia is a browser-based game which gives the player events in MTV and music history, and the player has to determine in which year the event occurred. At the end of the game, top players are ranked and displayed on the mtv.com website.
