'Azl
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
'Azl (عزل) is the Arabic word for isolation. In an Islamic context, it refers to withdrawal (coitus interruptus), intercourse characterized by withdrawal of the penis before ejaculation. Most Muslim scholars say that this act must be done with the consent of the wife, stating that the wife has the right to conceive. Some maintain that the husband alone has the right to choose.
In modern times, other means of contraception having the same effect are accepted by the majority of scholars.
