24 Hours to Live

24 Hours To Live is a 14-minute animated episode of Hey Arnold! shown before Harriet the Spy in theaters. It was used as a sneak peek to the new Hey Arnold! show that would debut in the fall. Both Harriet the Spy and "24 Hours to Live" were produced by Nickelodeon. Arnold was voiced by J.D Daniels in the pilot.

The story involved Arnold hitting Harold in the head with a baseball, after which Helga G. Pataki who is ready to defend Arnold then says that he should give Arnold a day before "his death".
Helga pesters him constantly about how he is "going to die" for the remainder of the day. Arnold thinks little of it at first, but starts to get nervous as the night wears on. The next day, Arnold is so nervous that he begins to act crazy, so Harold decides not to beat him up.

The original pilot has not been seen since the theatrical release and the video replaced it with two Rugrats music videos, however, the story was re-worked into a first-season episode of the series, paired with the episode Magic Show. on certain Hey Arnold Nickslusives, you can see scenes from the pilot episode and on Helga and Arnold shorts when Helga punches Brainy twice, and gives her monologue.

- Arnold has a orange sweater and blue shirt instead of a blue sweater and orange/red shirt.
- Arnold was voiced by J.D Daniels in the pilot instead of Toran Caudell.
- Helga's dress has sleeves and a it reaches to her neck with a white collar.
- Helga's locket with Arnold's picture is different. Arnold has a blue shirt.
- Brainy wears a blue shirt in the pilot but in the series he wears an orange shirt.
- Sid wears a red hat
- The lighting is orange.
