- Originally Carol Hathaway was supposed to die after her overdose in this episode (hence the fact that she is only a guest star), but she was extremely popular with the audience, so the producers decided to add her to the regular cast.
- This episode received four Emmy Award nominations: Directing (Rod Holcomb), Editing (Randy Jon Morgan), Makeup (Susan A. Cabral), and Writing (Michael Crichton).
