[edit] Civility
It seems to me that you have acted in an uncivil manner on User talk:Omicronpersei8. It is important to keep a cool head, despite any comments against you. Personal attacks and disruptive comments only escalate a situation; please keep calm and use the dispute resolution process to work out any problems you may be experiencing. Your involvement in attacking back can only anger contributors, and lead to general bad feeling. Please try to remain civil with your comments. Thanks! --AbsolutDan (talk) 02:31, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'm referring to your comments on Omicronpersei8's talk page (User talk:Omicronpersei8). You said "don't bother people with nonsense" and "who do you think you are?" Those qualify as fairly incivil comments. --AbsolutDan (talk) 03:58, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

- First, to answer your question "who am I?", I am just a regular editor who noticed your comments on Omicronpersei8's talk page and felt it appropriate to chime in.
- I assume you're referring to his edits that consist of cleaning up apparent vandalism and leaving warning messages? If so this is par for the course for a vandalism patroller. However if you feel his (or anyone's) activities are not proper, please follow the appropriate steps in the dispute resolution process, the first step in which is to calmly and politely engage the editor in discussion about the issue. In other words, talk to him and ask him nicely to explain whatever it is that you're concerned with. I'm normally not a betting man, but I'd wager that you'll get a polite response in return that might well address your concerns. --AbsolutDan (talk) 05:24, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

I clean my page up. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.16.15.150 (talk • contribs) 21:29, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- Cleaning up your talk page is OK if you archive it, making sure to provide a link to any deleted legitimate comments. I am restoring the comments. --AbsolutDan (talk) 01:07, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Railfan. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.72.77.91 (talk • contribs) 06:19, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to remove legitimate warning messages from your talk page, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --AbsolutDan (talk) 22:47, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, first, no one owns their user page or their user talk page. This isn't a personal webspace. See WP:OWN. While we are generally extremely flexible with letting users design/change their user and user talk pages, there are still certain guidelines that apply. One of them is that you shouldn't delete legitimate warning messages. You're welcome to move them to a different sub-page, and then provide a link here to that page. Or, you can provide a link to a specific revision of this page, which you can find by using the history button and picking a point in time when the warnings are in place. Either process is called archiving, and it's the acceptable method for clearing any kind of message from your talk page which preserving access to it for reference.
- This process is most important for user talk pages like this, since talk pages are meant to be a record of the communications between yourself and other editors. Please respect the processes and guidelines that apply to these types of pages. If you need any help archiving or have other questions, ask someone like you did on my talk page. --AbsolutDan (talk) 13:13, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize a page, as you did to Talk:Chinese River Dolphin, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. Kathryn NicDhàna ♫♦♫ 07:52, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
You wrote on my talk page:
- I didn't vandalize the discussion page and your waring is in error. Discussion pages do not have the same rules as articles, and my contribution was not vandalism, don't bite the newbies. Please revert your warning immediately.
While it is true that random comments on the talk page are not as serious as random comments in the article itself, your edit did nothing to further the work on the article and therefore was an abuse of the talk page. Looking at your edit history, you are not exactly a newbie. However you do have a history of vandalism and unproductive edits, therefore the warning stands. And as you have received three levels of prior warnings, the warning goes up to level 4. Sincerely, --Kathryn NicDhàna ♫♦♫ 08:27, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
