Regarding your edits of Celtic F.C.:
Celtic strip:
(the colours of physical-force Irish national republicanism excluding the tendentious orange or gold)
This is stated as a quotation. May I ask from where? I don't doubt that Celtic's colours are those of Ireland, but why "physical force Irish republicanism"? When Celtic started wearing green and white, the Irish flag with the orange strip didn't exist - Ireland's "colours" were green and white. Northern Ireland play in green and white - are they wearing the colours of "physical force Irish republicanism"?
Celtic Park:
where a foreign flag flies (the Irish tricolour), as opposed to the Union Jack or the Scottish saltire. This understandably offends both Scottish nationalists and British Unionists.
While I don't doubt that some Rangers fans are offended by the flag (as some Celtic fans are offended by some Rangers fans wearing England strips), can you give a citation for a notable Scottish Nationalist or British Unionist who has stated such offence?
Regarding the "ostensible"/"real" reasons behind Celtic's formation - what do you base this assertion on?
