- April 23 - A temple is built on the Capitoline Hill dedicated to Venus Erycina to commemorate the Roman defeat at Lake Trasum.
- Second Punic War: Marcus Claudius Marcellus again repulses an attack by Hannibal in the Second Battle of Nola.
- The Roman tribune Gaius Oppius initiates the Lex Oppia, which limits women's rights to own gold, wear elaborate clothing, and ride in fancy carriages. (The law was repealed about 195 BC.)
