4:21...The Day After is the fourth solo album from New York City rapper Method Man. The album was released on August 29, 2006 (see 2006 in music) to mostly positive feedback, with most agreeing this album was the first in a while to live up to Method Man's potential. It was released on the Def Jam label.
The first single, "Say" featuring Lauryn Hill, finds Method Man addressing critics, fickle fans and haters for disrespecting him and his Wu-Tang brethren.
It features guest appearances from various Wu-Tang Clan members, Fat Joe, Styles P, Lauryn Hill, Redman and more. Production is handled by Kwamé, Erick Sermon, Scott Storch and RZA amongst others.
Tracks from the album that were released online are "Say" (featuring Lauryn Hill), "Ya'Meen" (featuring Styles P & Fat Joe), "Presidential MC" (featuring Raekwon & RZA), "Fall Out", and "Walk On" (featuring Redman).
Method Man stated "The national weed smoking day is 4/20, so I named my album 4/21 the day after. Because after that day, you have this moment of clarity when you’re not high and you see things clearly." [1]
The album was leaked on the Internet on August 16.
