[edit] What are Roman Catholic views on Mormonism?
I especially read about what the Catholic church said about it's split up churchs (in which they claim that these churchs are 'false churchs' just like the latter-day church itself had also claim other christian churchs are false), so can you please answer my question, Did the Roman Catholic church ever had criticizm the Church and said that it is false also like some of the other christian churchs are. Also are there any Users on wikipedia that are Latter-Day Saints (and had edited some articles of their faith too).Thanks.
- I don't know of any state ment by the Roman Catholic Church, however a list of LDS wikipedians is here: Category:LDS Wikipedians. -The Scurvy Eye 04:17, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
- I have not seen such a statement from the RC church. About the best source that I could find of Catholic views of mormonism is here: Catholic encyclopedia which explains its place in catholic doctrine as
The Catholic Encyclopedia, as its name implies, proposes to give its readers full and authoritative information on the entire cycle of Catholic interests, action and doctrine....The Encyclopedia bears the imprimatur of the Most Reverend Archbishop under whose jurisdiction it is published. In constituting the Editors the ecclesiastical censors, he has given them a singular proof of his confidence and of his desire to facilitate the publication of the work which he has promoted most effectively by his influence and kindly co-operation.[1]
