- In the Futurama episode entitled Crimes of the Hot 2063 was the year that the world decided to drop a big ice cube into the ocean every now and then to combat Global Warming.
- In the Futurama episode entitled I Dated a Robot it said that Lucy Liu was the only woman to ever win Peoples Magazines Woman of the Year award twice, in 2003, and 2063.
- In the Star Trek universe, the physicist Zefram Cochrane develops a successful Warp Drive propulsion system and launches a rocket to test the technology. The rocket is detected by a nearby extraterrestrial starship from the planet Vulcan, and the ship's crew decides to establish contact with the technologically-advanced human species. April 5 2063 sees the human race make first contact with an extraterrestrial species, the Vulcans.
