If you are an unregistered user operating from this address, note that this need not necessarily be the IP address of your machine. In many cases, it turns out to be the IP address of a proxy server that communicates between your browser and the Wikimedia servers. Such proxies are shared among a huge number of users compared to the number of persons using your particular machine. If you are frustrated by irrelevant comments appearing here, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself.

- Checking the talk pages of these other proxy servers indicates that a large number of schools in new south wales use them, as well as lot's of other people. A long term ban is therefore not appropriate. Theresa Knott (The token star) 16:47, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)
[edit] August 2004?
I got this message from my dorm on the Grand Valley State University campus. If I am reading this right, I won't be affected by any thing that this IP has done in the past if I am logged in, correct? Thanks for your time, The Listener

- Actually if an admin blocks this IP you may find yourself blocked too. Which is why vandalism from this range of IPs should be delt with by reversion. To anyone else getting messages here because of the vandalism of others. The best way to avoid seeing "stop vandalism" warnings is to create an account. Thos will also stop admins from reverting your edits along with the vandal edits.
[edit] Multi user IP number
Note that it is not only students, people accessing wikipedia via schools or department of education computers, and not only people in New South Wales who are affected by the constant blocks placed on this IP number. Non-school based home users are also regularly affected by the bans on this IP number. Please be very careful before placing more blocks on this IP Number. MinorEdit 10:34, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

- This connection is provided to TAFE by MCI Worldcom. TAFE share the connection via fibre optic links to every government school in NSW (and it appears some if not all government schools in other states and New Zealand). A possible solution to vandalism would be to allow read only access from these IP addresses. - Defsac 02:47, 23 March 2005 (UTC)

- I have blocked this IP address permanently. If you are a teacher editing, I'm sorry but you really should look into controlling your students better. I know NSW schools can be rough, but that's really not our problem. - Ta bu shi da yu 01:06, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
- No longer blocked indefinitely. I will keep blocking for one hour everytime a new bit of vandalism happens. That should slow people down. - Ta bu shi da yu 03:13, 3 August 2005 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopaedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Star Wars, are considered vandalism. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the hard work of others. Thanks. -- (drini's page|☎) 05:17, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
- While this may not be received by the correct person, I will put it here anyway. Please don't add nonsense to articles, such as "I am egan i am strong in the ways of the force and i will force to spam this whole website with my great name." and randomly adding "EGAN" throughout the article.
