2020 Super Baseball is a futuristic baseball arcade game released by SNK / Pallas in 1991. Humans and robots play, and powerups may be purchased.
The game while taking many traditional elements from baseball mingles them with many sci-fi elements such as special land mines called Breakers that may injure human players or possibly destroy robot players. There are also energy shields that improve a specific aspect of a human players statistics. The robots while they cannot be given energy shields may be replaced by special super bots that have dramatically improved statistics but much shorter life cycles.
There are 12 teams split over 2 leagues. These two leagues are essential the difficulty setting for the game and represent the minor and major leagues of the game world.

[edit] Players
Each character has statistics for batting, fielding, running and pitching. These statistics represent any number of things including how fast a play moves, how hard they hit and how high they can jump or slide.
[edit] Humans
The majority of these teams excluding one in each league, are primarily comprised of human players. The humans are less specialized but can have energy shields equipped as-well as be pulled and replaced by a super bot.
[edit] Robots
There is one team in each league entirely comprised of robots. The robots represent a much higher degree of specialization, often having one statistic that far overshadows the others. Robots do not easily sustain injury or get tired, but they may breakdown. Robots may not be given energy shields but they can be replaced with further specialized. When a player has been injured or destroyed in the case of a robot they will be replaced with a Replacer Bot which has dramatically reduced stats in comparison to standard players

Far and away the best hitters in the game today. This team has several players, not just the one that can hit the ball over a thousand feet! No matter how many runs their weaker pitchers give up, these big bats keep driving home the runs!

[edit] Power-Ups
There are four types of power ups that can be purchased. The types of power-ups are hitting, pitching, fielding and robot. These power-ups come in 3 classes being A, B, and C grade.
