[edit] Hurricane Danielle

I don't see the point of a Hurricane Danielle article. A specific article typically requires for a storm to do something important; longevity, strength, damage, something like that. Danielle did none of those, so why does it have its own article. Most of the information in the Danielle article is already on the 1998 page..... Hurricanehink 18:17, 24 September 2005 (UTC)

I have a VfD on it - I agree with you. It becomes especially necessary if, in 2010, Danielle is a devastating storm (in which case it would lead to quite a bit of confusion). The thought about merging with Bonnie - I disagree unless we find more information. Had Bonnie formed today, it would have likely had its own article with all the internet news sources, but we don't have enough to make an article worthwhile. CrazyC83 23:37, 7 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Images for each storm

Assuming I continue the images for each storm of each season, what should I do for the satellite shot of 4 simultaneous hurricanes? Intro? Storm names? To the left of the storms (which would really squish the text)? Hurricanehink 21:03, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

Here are the images.

Will finish later unless someone else wants to do this. Hurricanehink 17:24, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

Done. For Nicole, I found a better one as a Tropical Storm, located here. Hurricanehink 02:33, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
I have a much better image of Bonnie, IMO. This is an image of Bonnie before landfall. Hautingly Beautiful. And the best part ... PUBLIC DOMAIN! YAY! Check it out!!Cyclone1 16:49, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
It's nice, but it's a little dark. For hurricane pictures, it is ideal to get pics when the eye is the most well formed. If that is not possible, you should at least be able to get the storm during the daytime when convection is at its best, though an eye is preferred. Hurricanehink 17:22, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Whoops, that was my computer screen, but still, the storm doesn't look really that organized in that picture... Hurricanehink 17:24, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, Thats why I put IMO. I'm not in charge of the pictures on these sites. Cyclone1 21:51, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Todo

Better summary, better intro. Jdorje 06:31, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

That sentence makes no sense. — jdorje (talk) 22:15, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
There was a problem with it earlier.HurricaneCraze32 22:23, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

I still have no idea what you're trying to say. — jdorje (talk) 19:43, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
There seem to be problems when i put the chart up.It messes everything on the page up.HurricaneCraze32 20:43, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Oh. Well, obviously that's because the wikicode in the table was wrong. — jdorje (talk) 20:44, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Also, don't add the table unless you can give sources for it. — jdorje (talk) 20:45, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Can you fix that-and i found it at the same place where its listed by year here at Wikipedia.(My '95 one also?)HurricaneCraze32 20:46, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Subtropical Storm?

According to Gary Padgett, the National Hurricane Center issued a Special Tropical Disturbance Statement for a non-tropical low pressure area on April 2 to the northeast of the Lesser Antilles. Here is a satellite image of it. Had this been classified, it would have raised the season total to 15/10/3. Just thought I'd put it out there. Hurricanehink 00:58, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

Non-tropical is not the same as subtropical. — jdorje (talk) 22:55, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
I know, I just thought I'd mention it, given how close it was. Hurricanehink 23:18, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bonnie pic

I uploaded a GORGEOUS picture of Hurricane Bonnie. I know no one would mind, because it's such an awesome picture. [1] →Cyclone1 20:38, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Wrong I mind... *grumbles*.--Nilfanion (talk) 20:51, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
I'm actually not that impressed by it, but now being unable to view the old picture, I have nothing to compare it to. bob rulz 06:02, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Old image is at Commons:Image:Hurricane Bonnie (1998).gif.--Nilfanion (talk) 12:06, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Why? What's wrong with the picture? →Cyclone1 19:03, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
The picture itself is fine however it could be in a much better location...--Nilfanion (talk) 19:06, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Yes, the picture is fine and after looking at the old one it probably is an upgrade; On second look, in some ways I like the old one better. This new one is kind of...blocky, hard to see becuase of the unusual angle, doesn't properly show the structure of the hurricane, and doesn't show it in relation to any landmasses (which is the main thing I like about the old picture). I'm fine with it staying, but in many ways I actually like the old one better. bob rulz 05:20, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Oohhh, sorry. What should I do about it? →Cyclone1 19:44, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
