Results from the 1989 Formula One French Grand Prix held at Paul Ricard on July 9, 1989. The race is most famous for the multiple collision involving Nigel Mansell and Mauricio Gugelmin on the warm-up lap, before both took the restart in spare cars. Jean Alesi took 4th on his F1 debut, Olivier Grouillard scored his only F1 point on home tarmac, and Stefan Johansson scored the Onyx team's first points
