1985 World Rally Championship season

slowly at first, but gradually gathering momentum, the old order of rallying would change during 1985. Audi had won the manufacturers championship for 3 years in a row, but in the light of the 3 wins scored at the tail end of 1984, the Peugeot team were confident of knocking Audi off its perch. It also seemed likely that Ari Vatanen would take the driver's crown. these predictions seemed spot on when Vatanen and Peugoet stormed to victory on the Monte carlo Rally in January. the way he dispatched Rohrl's Quattro on the snow and ice even after having an 8 minute penalty was amazing.
