1971 Canberra flood

On 26 January 1971 (Australia Day), a flash flood in the Woden Valley killed seven people, injured 15 and affected 500 people. The insurance damage was estimated at $9 million (1971 dollars).[1] It was estimated that around 95mm of rain fell in one hour during this event.[2]
