The 1927 Atlantic hurricane season officially began on June 1, 1927, and lasted until November 30, 1927. These dates conventionally delimit the period of each year when most tropical cyclones form in the Atlantic basin.

The 1927 season was relatively inactive. There were seven tropical cyclones that formed during the season; four became hurricanes; two became major hurricanes. The first hurricane of the season was also the strongest and most notable. It became a Category 3 early in its life and was one for a long time (about three days). It then became a strong extratropical cyclone as it headed up the east coast of the U.S., grazing Cape Cod and striking Nova Scotia. The storm made landfall near Yarmouth and traversed the whole length of the peninsula. The storm dissipated south of Greenland. The other major hurricane produced gusty winds on Bermuda. The only cyclone to strike the U.S. that year was a tropical storm that made landfall near Beaufort, South Carolina. Two tropical storms also affected Cuba.
