February 1922 The Chauri Chaura incident occurs where a mob of about 3000 kills some policemen. With the Non Cooperation Movement taking an increasingly violent form, this incident is the last straw to Gandhiji's sense of discipilne. He immediately calls for suspension of the NCM to the horror of many Congress activists.
