1906-07 South African cricket season
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 1906-07 South African cricket season was the sixteenth season of first-class cricket in South Africa. After a one season gap to allow for a tour by the Marylebone Cricket Club, the Currie Cup was competed for again. The format changed back from a knock-out format to a round-robin. Two points were awarded for a win, none for a loss. At the end of the season Transvaal played three first-class games against Border, and one against Western Province. Transvaal went undefeated through the Currie Cup matches. However, they lost their three-match series against Border, who did not compete in the Currie Cup, one-nil, and also lost their season finale against Western Province. No first-class touring sides visited South Africa in 1906-07.
